Ok

Have just bought one of these:

www.ecolambda.co.uk/main/ecosale/price.pl?item=250-24400

I realise that I may have effectively flushed £35 of my hard earned down the pan.

Should arrive tomorrow.

I'll fit it and let you all know how it goes.

wish me luck.

Hmmm,

I have been talking to an source who can get these thing cheap. However I have refrained from talking further with them as the minimum order value 20 items (mixed items allowed) and I cannot afford it at the moment as my bedroom is stacked with other BigJimny stock!

The source is quite cheap (ie Crank sensors at $16 USD each plus import duty, VAT and BigJimny retirement fund donation!!)

I could get a price if there was a real demand, but that demand would have to be backed by money as I am feeling a bit poor since Christmas. Is it listed below??

Update....

Fitted the part yesterday.

just to clarify, i bought a "universal sensor"

www.ecolambda.co.uk/main/ecosale/price.pl?item=250-24400

for about £35

Not

www.ecolambda.co.uk/main/ecosale/price.pl?item=250-24049

Which was going to be £65

basically the difference is that with the more expensive option you get a plug to slot it straight in.

I went for the pikey option of cutting the plug off the one on the car and reusing it.

The sensor came with full instructions, joining crimps (which i didn't use because i soldered the joints) shrink wrap to cover the connections, a protective cable shroud similar to thst fitted to the original and a litte sachet of anti seize (they give you enough to also lube up the little bolts that hold on the exhaust manifold heat shield).

sensor looks to be as well made as the original (externally anyway) and comes with one year's warranty.

I haven't had the car hooked back up to the OBD scan tool but the light has stayed out and it seems to have slightly better pull mid range.

If it craps out i'll again post an update and trot off to suzuki with £150 and my tail firmly between my legs but till then job would tentatively appear to be a good un.

cheers
