I did install a 1inch lift on my Jimny tonight. There are rubber boots on top of the springs , are they supposed to be removed or kept in place when installing the lift ?. I kept it and it was a very tight fit , not sure if the spring is seating as it should.

Another thing that might be good to know. When I removed the rubber boots on the rear , it was full of Water on both left and right side. I made a hole into the boot so that it will drain the water that might collect there othervice.

They are isolation devices that are there to help reduce road noise transmission into the structure of the car. Anything that stops water being held against metal is a good idea.
