Seat belt buzzer termination? (Gen 4) was created by Andy2640
Howdy guys n gals,

Anyone happen to know how to disable the seat belt audio warning?

It drives me utterly crackers. Come to think of it ..... the door open buzzer could do with being terminated too, full arnie style!

Any ideas please?

I obtained a spare seat belt clip and used that when out and about for a year or 2.
The alarm no longer sounds at all now as the wires underseat have parted due to me shoving things underneath all the time.

Spare clip lol.... yeah didnt think of that. Ok as a short term fix i suppose, but a permant fix is what im after.

I always wear the belt if im going somewhere specific and which is further than 200 metres or past the local shops. I just dont appreciate the insessent "bing bong" ..... bullying me into action , especially when driving gate to gate down the country lanes, or when ive got my door open chatting to someone, or.....just so many senarios ive found myself in ...... getting peed off with it.
Hence why it needs terminating!

 I found that unplugging a cable under the driver seat in my work Renault van sorted out this issue. Maybe you could 'accidentally' unplug one of your under-seat wires to see what happens?

On the gen3 there's a connection under the steering column that has green and white wires but on a gen4 I have no idea.

Good to hear you're trying to silence the various warning buzzers. I'm guessing the Jim4 uses a body control module (Jim3 doesn't) that could be offended by wiring interference. I'm supposed to be working on a module to auto turn off collision warning, I haven't got very far. If you find a way to fix any of these alarms please post some pics, much appreciated.

I did not like any of the sound alarms for lights, keys or seatbelts. I found the buzzer inside the dashboard cluster of my 05 Jimny 3 and put a piece of tape on the connections inside it.
Peace. :)

This easily reversible too.

I got holted in my tracks when i seen the SRS AIRBAG label on the side of the seat cover.

Is there any danger of interfering in some way with the airbag system if i tinker with the underseat cables ?

Anything in either a yellow sheath or with a yellow plug is srs and to be left alone. It is possible that the belt sensor is coupled with the seats occupant sensor and it's all passing through the srs computer. You need to try and find a diagram for the seat and buzzer system really.
