Thanks guys, all very useful info. I will see how things go when I put the tyres on. I was hoping to avoid doing a lift job because I didn't want to add to the strain on the prop joints when towing. When I had the samurai I went through several joints. However the extra clearance would be useful.
As this jimny is for work rather than play I don't intend to go severe as far as terrain is concerned, My main use is a mixture of quite heavy towing on dual carriageway (IE A trailer full of logs, at or very near the load capacity) and maneuvering about in the woods.
My tyre/suspension set up will have to be a compromise.
