Hi, going to Wales end of April and will be doing Strata Florida. It will be my 1st time, and looking at some videos it seems very wet! My Jim is only lightly modded (195/80 muds, 2" lift, transfer guard, and snorkel that is hopefully fitted right!). My question is this, if the water is high, will the Jimny manage in 2nd low to push through? I have done a bit of light laning, but nothing too serious. Also, is there anything I need to be checking before I go (apart from the obvious oil levels etc). Thanks,

Hi, will be in a group. The rest are all Landrovers, so don't want to have to be rescued!

Do you have diff and gearbox extended breather's fitted? These are the parts that are likely to suffer in deep water.

Jimnys like to rev fairly high compared to lard-rovers, so you might be better in 1st gear low. experiment a bit in shallower water first to see how hard it is to push on through.

Ive not been through strata yet, but its on the list later this year :-)

No breathers fitted (still on the list for when funds allow). Have done fords before:

10:25 for the ford crossing

However, not done any prolonged water driving, so don't know if it will start to slow down.
