Gear box and front & rear axles. was created by provencemick
Hi all, What's the best gearbox oil and thick additive and same question for the front and rear axles. My Jimny (1.3 soft top, 85k miles) has a bit of a whine, so I thought I'd renew the oils & additives. Thank you in advance.

The information is in the "Forecourt" article in the wiki.

It is generally not recommended to add any additives in any transmission oils (for example various MoS2 based additives, Ceratecs, etc.).

They can be useful for some special cases, but you truly have to know very well what you are "alcheming" with.

I thought my Jimny had a dreadful whining noise coming from it but I found an easy fix - by making the wife walk the whining noise went away ;)
