Does anyone know where I can get some of these plastic fixings for the rubber strip along the front of the engine bay, need to tackle some rust and will Need removing and I know there going to break when I take them out.

Dammit I was at the Restoration show at the NEC the other week and there was a company selling all manner of fasteners like that. I'm kicking myself for not paying attention now! :(

Yeah I have looked was just wondering if someone had a link etc, as it only brings up the plastic rivet clip for the body panels,!

Just replace them with pop rivets? I know you can get them in different sizes and in black.

And in a plastic version but I am naughty cos I often don't put back trims like that.:blush:

Pop rivets would be an easy solution but I didn't mention it due to the fact that they're usually made from Monel metal and with the amount of corrosion that Jimny's seem to attract I would have shied away from metal fasteners, and gone with something more like the original plastic thingies.

If poppers are the way forward for this, I'd be tempted to form them when they've been dipped in some poly type adhesive such as THIS STUFF
