And equally importantly, the spring seat on the axle has a similar shape and the spring needs to be positioned the same.

Thanks guys. I have the Superpro 15mm spacers and there is no cut-out - they are completely uniform all the way round.

Thanks for your help with this folks!

Just to update I bought the 38mm spacer from bits4vits and installed it today (replacing the 15mm superpro spacer in the front). I left the rear superpro spacer in place, and remeasured the distances between the arches and wheels. By my calculations the new spacer has lifted the front drivers side by a further 10mm, and it is now just slightly lower than the passenger side (no difference to the naked eye). There has been absolutely no difference to the rear (rear driver's side is still 10mm lower), so I will leave the rear superpro spacer in.
