I've had a good look at all of the accessories and, apart from floor mats of course, this large waterproof tray is the only one I'd probably get.

I have just had a look at the white Jimny demonstrator at BCC in Bolton, I was very impressed with it. I asked about the Forest Green colour, he said that the Suzuki briefing he went to regarding the Jimny they were told that the Forest Green will be coming to the UK, probably late 2019/early 2020..:)

Thanks for posting that accessories catalogue. I would however issue a word of warning that the UK still appears to have not agreed which accessories it is taking. Each market is taking a selection of accessories and despite being in English that appears to be the German accessory list. Hopefully we will get everthing but I was lead to believe there was a bit of a revolt around "why bother with stocking up with accessories when we have no cars to sell"

There is still a strong indication of a change in engine for the EU (and brexited UK) to support the upcoming regulations and this is not the hybrid/electric Jimny (which is subject to a separate initiative)

Bear in mind im comparing it to my older modified one, but I was pleased with the new one. Easy to drive and comfy. No ball of fire, but much better than the old 1.3 to drive. Heated seats were my fav bit today, but also really pleased that the electric window switch is no longer at knee height :-)

Noticeably smaller than J999MNY

I'll take yours please. lol

Can now confirm that those accessory lists are the UK ones although the brochures is the German one., so good news that we appear to be getting a comprehensive set

Martin, I don't know if you saw my post earlier Link here , but at the bottom of it I uploaded a scan of the official UK pack and accessory list that my local dealer printed off for me from their system. I missed out the column showing the price the dealers actually pay Suzuki for the parts!!

I did but it did not match what I had been told by Suzuki. However I have re checked this afternoon and can confirm you have the correct information

Yes 2020 regs get stricter still and this engine is a good few years old from their Japanese people carrier. It is by today's standards a dirty engine and will require changed out for 2020.

There is some interesting info on the honest john website regarding the 1.5 engine and why Suzuki chose it over the boosterjet engines, it also mentions the ramifications of the 2020 engine restrictions. It seems strange that they have launched the car with an engine that will be non compliant within 18 months?? Unless they have a plan to modify the 1500 lump to make it comply...;)

www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/suzuki/jimny-2019/good/

The EC has set Suzuki a Corporate Average CO2 of 90.5g/km from 2020, but the manual Jimny emits 178g/km WLTP and the auto 198g/km WLTP. For every car produced over Suzuki's corporate average of 90.5g/km there is a penalty of 95 Euros per gram. So for Jimny sales in Europe to be economically viable Suzuki would have to raise the prices by at least £8,500. Also, to produce more Jimnys to meet European demand, Suzuki would have to build another factory, but the EC penalty makes this a non starter. So the limited number of Jimnys available in 2019 are likely to be highly coveted.

12-12-2018: Andrew Frankel of 'Autocar' made a very fair point that a few more of us should have thought of before. When Suzuki makes an excellent, low CO2 1.0 litre 3-cylinder turbo engine that is even offered as a mild hybrid in the Swift, why fit a lumbering old non-turbo 1.5 4-cylinder engine in the Jimny? The 1.0 Boosterjet turbo would solve the above problem at a stroke. Suzuki's reply was that the UK company had queried this but were told by the company that "the 1.0 Boosterjet engine does not suit the general usage requirements of Jimny as the characteristics of the turbocharged engine may be unsuitable when driving off road. This is why a conventional 4-cylinder 16 valve unit is used."

Something to be aware of, there appears to be an issue with the AEB system (autonomous emergency braking ). Suzuki are aware of it and they think it can be cured with a software fix...
