Over time the number one plug tube is filling with oil, looking at a few drawings I suspect there is a O ring in the rocker cover to stop this, local parts place only has them listed as part of a full head set, anyone know a part number for them or can recommend a supplier ?

Thanks in advance.

I replace the rocker cover gasket and do all 4 of the spark plug gaskets whilst your in there. Rubber hardened with age and heat. If 1 is leaking then it won't be long before the others start. It's also good workshop practice ;)

If in doubt ...... Flat out ??

It is if someone else is paying

About £60 to check the tappets just replacing a few bits of rubber
Which is why checking the tappets has been on my "When I get a Round Tuit" list for many years ;) (If you don't know what a Round Tuit is- ask your grandparents)

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
