So today I went and did a few lanes around were I live, just to kill some time while the girlfriend went shopping.
As I came down the one lane there were a few low trees, that I had been under before with no problem until today. It sounded like I had been shot at! As I turned around to seen what had happened. well I'll let the picture say it all!!!

Best not to have anything on the roof really, only gets ripped off by trees if laning as you have found out. I remember a SWB land cruiser coming laning with us and having to remove a twisted full length roof rack still wrapped up in a tree on a lane once ... Not funny.

I have bought an aerial mount for the back door but still haven't got around to fitting it! May help with your problem though.

Having trouble visualizing that. Is it a holed rear window?? Bad karma. :(

It's funny you say that. I was looking at it yesterday working out the best position for it and realised it will be constantly hitting the rear door, which to be honest would drive me mad! May stick with the mag mount :)

I'm struggling to work out how a roof mounted aerial bent round the back and broke the rear window.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

The coil on the aerial acted as a spring and as it bent over as I backed under a low branch it whiped over and the tip of the aerial hit the window and smashed.
