I have facebook open most fo the day, every day. Mainly because I can chat to friends / family when over seas.
Its good too for making quick decisions like arranging short notice events ...
As for technical content though, you cannot beat a forum IMHO.

I also use it for chat, however I connect to it via AIM instead of having it in my browser
I used to run unrealircd for a hackers chat chan. It was good if you were all on togeather however you had to sift through logs to see what was said by who etc etc..... a forum its always there as long as its hosted. You dont need to be logged in 24/7 :)

I can't stand Facebook either!

As has been said already, Bigjimny is expanding as it is so is not in need of advertisement.

It would be nice to find members closer to me to meet with but I'm in a good local club, even if most of them are green oval fans.

I have added in a Facebook commenting facility to www.test.bigjimny.com as a trial. Take a look at the "Pea Farm" article on the front page. Go to "read more" and when in the full article scroll to the bottom.

The facility enables you to comment on BigJimny articles.

Is this useful to anyone???
