The late models have one of those "double din" sized units, I've never tried, but I think that you can use a standard double din to single din plate. They provide a pointless extra cubby slot that isn't deep enough for anything as well ;)

Depends on the dash curvature and if there are rounded corners etc.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
