Please excuse my ignorance, but what is that and what is it for?

Not being that familiar with tuned engine builds and all ;-)

I'm having a guess here
Think it's to help the piston into the bore,so the rings don't snag

It's a billet piston which is quite oval and with a teflon coating....standard type ring compressors scratch the skirt......so the better way is to use a tapered guide for installing.

Mine is 78.5mm and nobody makes one.

Finally started to put the engine together.

Checked the fit on the trigger wheel...all ok so far.

Drew both the bell-housings up ie Jimny and the Lexus....overlapped them in software....only 2 bolts are in conflict....happy with that.

A spot of drill tap and weld-drill should sort that.

Couple of things to think about....oil pump etc......then on to mount the Supercharger and the Turbo.

Cracking stuff Keith....

Got the ancillaries test fitted.....chuffed to get the Swift air con compressor to fit....what I save I can spend on the turbo manifold parts.

The Jenvey manifold allows me some extra space on the cold side to fit the Supercharger...happy days....it looks like it'll fit!
