Looking at those it looks fairly hard clay with bits of gravel? Ok so not too much for road tyres in the dry but fairly slick in the wet. Hmm. Might have to look at the tyre choice. Cheers for the pictures.

Yes, fairly firm tracks that turn slick in the wet.

(beginners note the pictures show more hard core off-roading, there are gentler bits!)

You will enjoy it there, a lot of nice white routes to have a go on I'll try and post some later of when I first went there and was getting the feel for what the jimny can do ;)

Just to balance those extreme pictures for the benefit of people looking for a fun drive around.

I found this on YouTube. It's not me or anyone I know just the first thing you get for searching. Seems like a pleasant drive.

Looks great! Any of you hairy truckers using your CB radios that day?

I don't have a CB set <incoming needless purchase spidey-sense alert>, but have a decent PMR 446 walkie talkie which I can bring along.

Although it will be nice to have a gentle play on the easy bits of the site, the main reason I'm going is to meet everyone and check out all the lovely Jimnys. :)

Thanks Lambert,

Gen 4 owners - dont be put off by the extreme pictures, they are just the popular bits to photograph and you will appreciate with my Jimny that that was why we were in that area. In the pretty unlikely event that Suzuki manage to deliver a brand new SZ5 in blue that we are looking for then you would see our new Jimny there as well.

In addition to the sites own marking of tracks we will try and identify any specific hazards and even give some "tuition" if anyone feels unsure (note we are only happy amateurs giving guidance to happy amateurs!).

CB - yes I will be on CB (when in my own car) - UK Chan 8 I will propose.

My own perception is that new owners will also want to experience the traction control and hill descent control and I am sure there are opportunities to press the buttons and see what happens. I have driven off-road a lot in electronic system Range Rovers and its good to experience them working. Typically you have to feed in some torque to make them work so there is the learning point of how much power to feed in in "goldilocks" terms (not to little, not too much, just the right amount)
