Day 2 saw Becky and Redmond starting early (4am) to get the Eurotunnel to France. The plan was to do all of the long distance road trip in one day in order to get straight to the mountains.

Jimny chocked into place, they have clearly heard about Jimny handbrakes!

Then it was the long slog to the mountains. The sat-nav gave a hopeful 8 hours journey time. It was definitely not a Jimny sat-nav as the real journey time was a numbing 11 hours. The only relief was tail gating a lorry for 300km, getting a useful tow in its slipstream.

The foothills of the Alps made a welcome end to the journey.

Finally it was time to stop driving, rest for the night and sample some of France's finest cuisine
